This is Walter, my pet canary.
I found him being attacked by a much larger bird in a parking lot on the beach over the summer. Now he’s my friend.
This is the first bird I’ve ever owned, so I’m learning as I go.
But if I’ve learned anything, it’s that a bird is the most unemotional pet you’ll ever have. I take him out of his cage from time to time to give him a chance to explore the living room. I assume he isn’t happy sitting in a cage (a pimped-out bird cage, by the way) all day everyday. But when I take him out, he just sits on the floor, confused and squawks.
Then when I try to pick him up, he hops away from me furiously.
I just want him to appreciate everything I do for him.
